That title is not hyperbole. I love this razor refill. I have been shaving with the Sensor and Sensor 3 for more than 25 years and have tried many (many) other razors in between as the Sensor 3 has become more difficult to find. None of them come close to the shave quality, flexibility and longevity of this replacement cartridge. This razor is compact enough to maneuver around my jawline, lips, and nose, while being totally effective when shaving the rest of my face. I hope Gillette representatives are reading this review. All the other razors Gillette (and other companies) have come out with since are inferior or so over-designed they are worthless. Adding all additional (beyond three) blades, the extra swoopy swivel features, the "power" razor and all the other marketing hoopla have still not improved on the simplicity and effectiveness of the Sensor 3. I just bought a seven year supply of this razor and hope by the time I need to shop for razors again Gillette will have gone back to basics on shaving (okay, maybe not all the way back to straight edges) and start making this razor again. This may all sound like a bit much of a review for a simple razor, but when you have tried so many other models, other brands, the shaving clubs and most everything in between, you know what works and you want to stick with it. The blades perform just as well as my previous Sensor 3 blades, and it seems that they will last just as long. There are 2 slight negatives with the blades. First, the product doesn't match the packaging. As you can see from the picture, the lubrastrip at the top of the cartridge is green. The actual product has a yellow lubrastrip. I called Gillette and they confirmed that in Brazil, where the cartridge is manufactured, the lubrastrip can be yellow. However, they didn't explain why the color of the lubrastrip (green) on the packaging doesn't match the actual cartridges. I don't know if these blades are irregular in some way. The second negative is that it appears that these blades were stored in a very hot, damp, moist environment. The cardboard packaging is soft and flimsy and all the colors on the packaging are faded compared to the packaging of my old blades.Read full review

Razors with more blades are better at shaving beards and thick stubble, but are bad at getting the curves and contours of your face. The Sensor 3 doesn't have too many blades or too few. The lubricating strip and microfins make for a smooth shave without any cuts. It's still not as good for dense facial hair as razors with more blades, but it really is perfect for everyday shaving. Razors with more blades cost more, but last longer, so it's a wash as far as value goes.

The 5 blade cartridges are way to difficult for me to shave around my nose area, the 2 blade cartridges can be unforgiving. These 3 blade cartridges fill the void although I need to shave some areas twice and do some touch ups I get an irritation free shave which is very important to me. Overall I think this is a very respectable cartridge at a modest price!

This product is not easy to find. I've been using it for years and fortunately have one of the older Gillette handles that are heavier/well balanced than the newer handles. Although made in Brasil under Gillette franchise I believe the quality to be as good as previously purchased made in the US.
