Item works well and I measured my tyres today and found my front tyres are only just legal and need replacing soon. NO ,MENTION WAS MADE THAT BATTERY IS NOT SUPPLIED IT SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR. Not too upset because price was similar to a less accurate manual gauge It is easy to use switch on set to zero and measure tyre depths, useful for break pads too. The battery required is a LR44/A76 Alkaline at £3.99 for two long life. Cheaper batteries are available.

It was purchased to replace my manual gauge because I thought it would be easier to read and it is. But it is also somewhat awkward to use and easier to disturb a taken reading, especially a small wheeled super mini like mine. There would be no problem with a wheel off the vehicle

Good gauge with clear depth reading LCD to two decimal places. ON / OFF button too easy to move. Resetting the depth pin to ZERO is tricky as it can go into negative below the zero stop. seems well made and accurate though.
