In my opinion this is the best filter for the Mk1. I previously tried a K&N filter, but it seemed to drain and upon starting from cold it took a while for oil pressure to build up. I didn't keep it fitted to the car for long. I've never had such problems with this Mazda filter. MX5parts always seem to have a good stock of them at very competitive prices.
