I have used a Lensatic Compass, first issued in 1977, for 24 years in the Army. Countless land-nav courses and usual Infantry movements in field environments. With the advent of GPS and other high-speed low drag navigation systems, the military, as well as the civilian community has gotten away from good basic map reading and the use of a compass. Using this type of compass keeps you sharp in the woods.

Definitely a fake, everything is sloppy loose and cheap metal parts, but it seems to work as a compass should. Overall quality is meh.. you get what you pay for in this case. Probably ok for kids lol

I've used this type of compass for over fifty years. My old military one finally got damaged. So I figured I would replace it with the new Trivium powered dial. That way I don't have to charge it with a flashlight anymore. Milspec quality so you don't have to worry about it.
