Pros: 1. Rather Stylish 2. Easy to use 3. Good bluetooth - Pairs with other devices easily 4. Easy to transfer numbers to via bluetooth 5. Decent antenna 6. loud enough to hear the ringer when in pocket and it is clear 7. Great price 8. Like the stainless steel shell 9. Feels solid and not flimsy like other phones i've had (kyocera) 10. call quality is good 11. Screen brightness is good 12. Have always liked sliders... this one is no exception 13. Cons: 1. The mirror finish scratches easily 2. Difficult to use the joystick like control in the center. I always seem to do the click than use the directional feature I was looking for. Then i just might have fat fingers. 3. Some of the features of the left and right buttons are counterintuitive. 4. The phone is relatively thick, so dialing can prove to be difficult if not looking at the keypad - guess I should set up voice dialing. 5. Battery life is bad when travelling in and out of coverage zones. - Purchase a car charger for this reason Overall impression. The mirror finish on the screen is gimmicky, and rather pointless, other than for looks. I am definitely glad that i bought the phone, and if given the choice would still purchase the phone. It is a great value for the money, and having had various LG phones in the past this one is just as easy to use as all others.Read full review
I love this phone, it works great! The camera has good pictures, but not very good with catching in motion, pictures get blurry easily. The phone is nice looking, and easy to use. One of the draw backs, for me atleast, is that the call and end buttons are sometimes hard to hit, becuase the phone gets in the way. Very easy to slide open and closed, and the internet works great, as well as texting, ect. Would deffinately recomend this phone to a friend. (Battery does die pretty quickly, but only if your using the phone a lot. It also charges quickly as well.)
Coming from a motorola razr, I wanted something simple, small, and durable. This is an excellent upgrade to the razr. The keypad is pretty much identical for texting, although it take a little getting used to the raised nature of the "knob" which controls backwards and forwards movement through texting, putting in numbers, etc. I wouldn't consider the "mirror" anything more than to check for the occasional booger. I love the slide out feature. I've already found a great use for it - I just create a draft of a list of grocery items, save it as a draft, and then just pop out the phone when i'm at the store with the draft on the screen. I don't have to open it. However I do have to unlock it to see the screen. But here's what is really cool. You can select a time where the phone auto locks itself so you don't pocket dial people. The menus could be better - there is a lot of "bloat." I liked the razr because it did everything I needed and did it quickly. I'm keeping my razr for backup purposes. So far it seems really durable. I don't know how long the slider will remain "solid" I love motorola phones because of motorola phone tools and because I have not gotten the data cable yet, I cannot comment on LG's mobile sync. My only real beef with the phone is that the keypad sometimes has a "senior" moment where it takes a minute to catch up, or doesn't think you hit the button. They keys could be better. But like I said, thats my only gripe. Being that this is a 3G phone, and you can score it for 80 bucks pretty much anywhere, its a great deal. I would never fork out 300 bucks for an iphone when I can have this - but take into account that I don't have a data plan because there is a computer everywhere I go - I don't need it. And I despise all that social networking stuff like twitter.Read full review
Overall, this is a good phone; however it has a few minor issues. Overall the phone works as intended, battery life is average compared to other phones. The interface on the phone is pretty simplistic, menu based browsing. Many of the Con's involved on this phone are minor issues that don't have much of an impact on the overall utility of this phone. Pro's: Full Color Screen Internet BrowserUser Friendly Menu's & GUIs Compact DesignSleek Colors Integrated CameraVideo Functions Con's: Easily broken when dropped Does not like Water Rollerball small and clumsy Big fingers and small keys do not get along
The LG Shine is my first cell phone and I got a few in August this year. I have the silver one with a clear case and screen protector and it still looks great. This phone is great for a first phone. I'm very happy with my purchase. Pros: Large screen Joystick is fun and easy to use Slider Micro SD slot 2.0 Megapixel Camera Screen lock Easy to use Looks great Cons: Battery life isn't great but not terrible Sometimes you can't feel it vibrate Even though the battery isn't the best it's all I needed in a first phone. Also I knew what I was getting out of it so it was a great purchase. As long as you know what you are getting I highly recommend this phone!
