I've used Mac Pro's for 20 years, find them to be by far the best tower made. Solid construction, easy to update, and never any problems. I only updated to be able to run a more current version of OSX. But it is such a powerhouse! Four HDD drive bays and trays, can change in a minute or two. I tossed my PC's into the trash when I retired from doing systems analyst / project management. I've never had to spend hundreds to update every few years like I had to with Windoz. So easy to use with my iPhone6S, and other Apple devices. What's a "Virus"? Never had one on any Apple device.

The speed wars are over in power computing, since everyone now uses the same chip and most people don't use computers anymore anyway. On the down side, that means things haven't improved much in the speed game in many years. On the upside, that means older machines that are now quite inexpensive are still nearly equivalent to the new machines which cost four times as much. There's very little to gripe about with the 4,1 and 5,1 mac pros. I really can't justify the expense of the nMP unless you really have money to burn. Word to the wise -

New is a must. I distrust used computers, and the design advances occur much too fast.Big and fast is also important to me for my graphic design and photography. I like the Mac design, as intuitive and reliable. The MacPro replaced a PowerMac dual G5.PhotoShop seems to run at least twice as fast now. The mechanical design seems superb, allowing easy owner upgrades. This is my 5th Apple computer since my Apple II and I have always been pleased. My only gripe is the high cost. But the coordinated software and excellent design makes it worth the money. Grandpa
upgrade to mac pro 5.1, and then you can use double six-core processor. Use PCIe SSD like samsung SM951, the speed is over 1GB/s. MB535 is the most affordable mac pro of two CPUs.
