The deck is beautiful and brand new, as described. I will say that I am lucky that I received it. The seller packed it too small and my mailman said that it fell through the conveyor at my mail hub. He almost forgot to deliver it to me, because it was so small it fell through his mail bundle. I was expecting it today and was outside when the mailman man arrived and asked him about it. He told me to tell the seller to package the item in a larger box next time, so that it doesn't get lost.

This item was a replacement for exact model that had worn out after about 10 years of relentless daily use. Alerts and warnings are relevant. Band selection allows different cities. Has battery back-up slot. Is portable enough to take along when traveling on vacation. Would like for item to last longer,but price makes replacement not a large concern.

Squealing problem is easily fixable.
Caused by plugging in AC adaptor in pc plug instead of DC input. They are next to each other and easy to plug in wrong input. Solution: Pull batteries out of unit. Unplug AC adapter and let unit sit for about 20 minutes. Reinstall batteries, reprogram and plug in ac adapter in CORRECT input. Problem should be cleared. This is how I fixed the squealing problem on my Midland weather radio.

EASY FIXES
If the radio doesn't work, check that the "weather radio" switch on the right side is turned on. Also, the antenna mount on these breaks easily. It's fairly easy to repair or use an external antenna. If it sounds the alert tone when listening to the radio, loosen and retighten the 6 screws holding the circuit board to the case.
