Have only tested it so far, but seems to work well. I am interested to see how long the batteries last.

I was very disappointed when I discovered that the whole top edge of the picture is black. I feel that I should have been made aware of this before it was purchased. Now every picture that I take has a nice part of it totally black.

Bought this older (mint) Cannon because you read all the pro reviews and it usually rates better than the two newer sx20-30 models, even has features they have dropped on the new ones. New ones suffer in photo quality because you can only pack so much mega pixels and zoom into the same body and small sensor(sometimes bigger NOT better). After all didn't you buy your camera to take nice pictures? Want to take videos buy a camcorder...the two in one thing wont work well, you will settle with two sub par photo and video components instead of one thing that excels. My opinion.
I had one of these cameras. Great little camera. At one point it no longer took pictures correctly. I searched and found there had been a recall on the sensing unit and I was able to send it in and get it repaired at no cost to me. Even though the camera would not take a picture correctly, you wouldn't know it unless you actually took a picture onto an SD card. Otherwise everything else appeared to work correctly including seeing the image in the LCD screen. Testing should include actually taking a picture and verifying the image on the SD card is correct.

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT is an exceptionally small and lightweight camera designed for amateur digital SLR photographers, but it delivers the responsiveness and image quality you'd expect from a semipro model.
