Better than most and made by a leading brand name

Found this product easier to use than the gel type wash of with water. This product is very watery and easy to apply. You must remove as much rust as possible then apply this liquid to the affected area it then turns the metal almost black. The instructions say to leave it at least 3 hours then you can apply a covering over the area treated. ie primer/paint etc. You have to cover it as soon as you can after 3 hours leaving it longer stops the curing process. Do not get the liquid on any existing paintwork as it will stain it. Like most of these rust curing products it just holds the rusting back for a while. I have used similar products in the past on car body work and the rust can return after a few years. Because of the low cost of this product and its coverage I would recommend it but ...

    Not fully convinced

I have some rust on my civic drivers door. Thought this is gonna get rid of it, but only got rid of the paint where I accidentally touched it lol. The rust seems a bit smoother now, probably if I'll keep trying, I'll get to a good result.

  • Turns rust into metal

Hammerite Kurust metal rust converter is an excellent product. I used to use it years ago on my old cars and it worked really good. I have just treated my workmate and it has given it a new lease of life. The Kurust is a little thinner than I remember and does run; just be careful.

  • A cheap fix on car body rusty sills!

An inexpensive product and easy to use. Good preparation required on the rust patches then simply paint on. Once dry, prime and topcoat paint. Only time will tell, but as yet all seems to have gone well!

  • RE. MGB Outer sill lip.

I have treated the area with Kurust as slight surface rust had appeared. I then gave a good overcoat of Zinc Based primer and so far so good. Very easy and clean to use by brush and sure enough as it treated the area it changed colour.
