There are others, then there Makita, the best by miles. Used the brand for years, early 1970,s onwards Has never let me down. Great battery charger, rapid and very efficient, even has a USB Charging port. Highly recommended part and company

Major con is the plastic earth pin on the UK plug. I bought four of these before one arrived with the plug in one piece so I could use the charger out the box. If it can't arrive intact in the post, what's it going to be like after a few weeks bouncing round the back of the van? This is ridiculous penny pinching from Makita. The charger itself is great and I like the addition of the USB port for charging phones etc. And yes I could cut the flex and fit my own plug, but I shouldn't have to with a brand new item.

As charger was stated as new I thought it would come I original box. It comes in normal used box so I presume they are pulled from sets and re packaged. So not really good as a present. That being said. The unit looks new and function as it should do along with user manual.

Recently purchased this through want rather than need. I already have 4 of the single unit chargers in various Makpac cases but I though't I'd buy one of these to keep in my site box. There is a 110v version available for somewhere around double the price of the 240v version; however I have a 110-240v inverter so I can use this at home and on site(although you probably shouldn't do this yourself). It's very handy when you have 10 or so batteries that are in constant use across multiple tools but I wouldn't recommend this if you only have a handful and with the newer 5 and 6ah batteries, I find the need to charge them is diminished greatly. This is something that would be very useful if you are using tools that take 2x18v(36) as you can pairs together ready for change over. It's a lot heavier than you would imagine. It's not like combining two single chargers, it's heavier still so I wouldn't recommend it if you are jobbin' or travelling light. The USB port on the front is handy when you need to charge your phone and such devices, however I would recommend you buy the Makita LXT slide on-USB adapter if you want to keep portability an option. Overall it's handy if you need it but a big expensive if you don't have a lot of tools and batteries in action.Read full review
