This is quite simply the best album ever made and will continue to be so. A huge sonic explosion which starts off with Did you miss me? - very powerful lyrics. The second track - Film Maker, continues the energetic vibe, with Jon's drumming at his optimum and Ben's voice at its most menacing. Panzer Attack describes a typical aggressive night out in Reading, "the Friday night abattoir spills out into the streets" and has a real driving bassline. Who needs enemies - fantastic harmonies and horns, Tom's bassline is outstanding. Amber- a very eerie song which will speak to most of us who have had friends or family members with alcoholic tendencies "Remember the time I couldn't speak, Everybody laughed, So entertaining was this breakdown". Going into Digital Observations- wonderful mixture of discordant harmonies. Lets Kill Music - get your head round the 3 way vocals and its electro pop quality. By 5554823 you just need a breather, then you go into Been Training Dogs - a mass of repetitive and energetic guitar riffs with plenty of grunt. The final two tracks wind the whole album to a grand finale, suffice to say the strength of this album is insurpassable. It is groundbreaking partly for its individual tracks but in particular its sequencing is second to none. You will start questioning if any band has ever really made a "whole" album and certainly in my opinion no-one has come close in relation to this album.Read full review
this 2002 offering from TCTC is a classic album that has sadly been overshadowed by many of 'here today, gone tomorrow' indie bands that were looking for chart stardoom. When first asked to descibe this first album I would say 'Oasis with balls', they have a much meatier sound with more turbulent guitar but there is a hint of the Oasis sound in there - particularly in 'Who needs enemies'. They have very much their own sound on most tracks with the 'slow, fast, slow' approach to miost tracks that worked so well for the Pixies, Nirvana and a host of other later indie bands. If you havent got 'See this Through' aready I would say buy it and the second album (by far the best) and the new third album which is still growing on me! Personally I love it and can't get enough of them
As an avid Coopers fan, I'd been searching for the last song I'd never heard; U93. Just brilliant :]
