A quirky but interesting SF movie, with good CGI and a post-apartheid inspired plot. Uncomfortable viewing at times but compelling for all that. Well worth a watch.

Do not be fooled by the description of sci-fi horror. The majority of the film sees a comical side to the story. In the second half the movie you payed for comes into action. Although i say this negatively, do not be put off. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and would happily watch this again. This is not best suited for anyone looking to have a proper film with an in depth story. It is more a DVD to relax and watch on a friday night with a curry... If you know what i mean... I hope this somewhat amateur review helped Thanks
The film is good - but a very odd story line. Basically an alien ship visits earth then becomes stranded and is hovering so many hundreds of feet in the air. The army break their way in to find it full of aliens all starving to death so the aliens are brought down and housed in a refuge camp which soon become a slum of shacks. The story follows a worker that has to go into the slum to get each alien to agree to move to another camp miles away from the nearest local town as (obviously) the residents down what an alien camp near their town. This worker becomes infected by some alien fuel that a scientist alien is collecting and slowing starts to turn into one of them. In the end the worker helps the scientist alien and the aliens son escape back to the still hovvering ship so that he can repair it and go back to their planet for help. I found the acting quite poor by the lead man but the alien effects were very good. Watch it of you get the chance.Read full review
What can say,i was all excited about watching this film and i read loads of reviews on how good it is and it makes you think............. Hmmmm made me think why did i ever buy it,the accents are dreadful and the story takes a age to get going, the best bit of the film is about the last 10 minutes and you know district 10 will be next. All in all its soooooooooooo boring that id advise anyone to wait till its £2 on dvd and then watch it when your tired as its great for sending you to sleep.
I watched a bit of this film over someone's shoulder on a train and knew I had to see it. It's an odd mixture of faux documentary, science fiction and horror - it certainly pays homage to The Fly. There are some wry lines and scenarios but, political message aside, if you like seeing giant prawns ripping limbs from baddies you'll enjoy the schlock element. (This must qualify me for Pseuds' Corner.)
