This is a good heron (think it was £10). The beak and legs are rubbish though so buy any striking yellow paint (daffodil yellow etc) and paint over the beak and legs. If you used emulsion (£1 from Wilkinsons) use any old varnish to paint/spray over it so the rain doesnt wash the colour out. In a couple of years the suns UV will have ruined the whole paint finish so you can buy the paints (just look for the colour on a "Heron photo" on Google) and have fun repainting him. With the legs and beak painted bright yellow its enough to be seen by local herons flying over (we live 2 miles from the 2nd largest heron colony in UK) and as they dont like being too near each other the size of this painted beak will warn the others off. It seems to work. ps I lost 2 large Koy to herons last summer...so big the herons) dropped them on the lawn having killed them! This works :)Read full review
