I love this thing, easier clean up than a french press, faster and better than a percolator, absolutely no grounds in my coffee ever. I bought this not expecting to be impressed, actually intending to pour my perked coffee through it to eliminate the grounds, I haven't used my percolator since the I received my brew buddy. Xmas stockings will be receiving these this yr.

First off I love that it's totally reusable, no need for extra filters. Now the cons. 1. No matter how large I grind my coffee there is always some coffee sludge at the bottom of my cup. 2. You can't see how much water you've poured into your cup through it like you can with some of the pour through cones. Which is only a minor inconvenience. 3. If you use alot of coffee grounds it takes a long time to pour the water through because you have to pour it so slowly. But- Worth $5? Absolutely.

Follow the directions, pour a small amount of hot water over the ground coffee and then give it a minute for the ground coffee to swell. Once that is achieved, fill your cup with hot water and give it a minute to steep and remove the grounds and filter. I use a small glass to rest the filter in and allow the grounds to dry. They easily fall right out into the trash. It's easy to rinse and I've put mine in the dishwasher as well. The coffee comes out similar to a coffee press, but I think this is actually better and much more compact. Absolutely love the coffee I make with this!

I have used one of these for the past two years. As an avid outdoorsman and Army Infantryman it is essential to be able to take the comfort and the get up and go of a hot cup-a-joe in the field. Using any heat source to boil water, JetBoil, Esbit with a canteen cup, simply place the desired amount of those delicious ground bits of heaven into it. Then pour over some of that hot stuff and BAM coffee. To clean all you have to do is flip out the used grounds and rinse with a little bit of water. Hot water works best because as you drink the water evaporates and it is ready to put up when your done suckig down that go juice.

I like coffee, but I rarely drink more than one cup at a time. I didn't want to invest in one of those single-use pod-type machines, nor one of those single cup machines; I felt that would take up too much space on my counter. Not only is this product easy to use and easy to clean, it take up virtually no space for storage and I can easily take it with me when I go on a trip. How to use: place the brew buddy over any standard cup or travel mug, put in the amount of coffee to taste (or you can use this to brew loose tea as well -- there are no little "floaties" left in your cup afterward), then slowly pour in hot water. You will need to pour in the water slowly and allow it to filter through the coffee a few times to get the whole cup full of water. Your coffee is ready in as little as one minute, but you can steep it longer if you want stronger brew. Your tea needs to be brewed according to package instructions; some say 3-5 mins and some say longer; also, the water flows through the loose tea easier than through the coffee grounds, so there is not a need for the "pour and wait" process that is needed for coffee. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants just one cup of coffee at a time or likes loose tea without floaties. :)Read full review
