When I was shopping for something more dialled towards "audiophile-grade" I was constantly recommended Beyer Dynamic, and more specifically, the DT-990 Pro. I have to say, it's just fantastic for what you expect. Nice reference sound (I have personally EQ'd to be closer to Harman Target and it sounds beautiful) and pleasant at high volume. Lots of detail and a wide sound stage. It was between these and the closed-back DT-770 Pro's, but I'm glad I went with these. Everything is serviceable and replaceable, as well as built well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a start in the audiophile world.

f you want beefed up bass and everything sounding fantastic no matter how bad the tune is? Then don’t buy these is my advice! But if you want realistic uncoloured and natural sounding headphones then look at these further perhaps? If you serious on music production for many hours then the DT990 250ohms are good contenders for this purpose with the open back design let’s your ears breath well because they are open back and the sound is very fit for purpose, they quite big so should cover most ears “maybe Prince Charles may have trouble” but for most of us they are big enough, Remember learn the headphones they are trying to speak to you so don’t just use them a few times and judge, train your self and you be on the money in no time I’m sure, I have a few from this brand and this is a great all rounder, but remember they are open backed so they do leak sound so if you want closed back headphones maybe look for either DT250 or the 770 I have them also for various situations but I’m over kill then most users I’m sure, remember in the studio 250ohms are your friend in most situations, I as said before I actually like this brand and have a pair a headphones away from music production and I like them a lot, hope this helps out others perhaps, the only thing which I do miss slightly on my DT250 for example you can replace the lead very easy if you need to replace the lead at some point? But on the 990 / 770 is a different ball game so bare this in mind, but to give you a idea I have had my DT250 for well over a decade and I never had to replace the lead, so maybe these will last a long time with the gentle care I give my headphonesRead full review

For years I had the Sony MDR- V500 and were causing pain with the pads sat directly on your ears. So after a fair bit of research, I decided to go for these as their reviews for a budget headphone is pretty good. And their not wrong! The feedback response given is so flat that I now mix to these and mixes seem a bit louder on my monitors. The mid-hi is just so clear and you can definitely get the bottom out on these bad boys!! Overall - definitely happy with this purchase. 🌟

I purchased the Beyerdynamic DT 990s after reading excellent reviews about them particularly for mixing audio in my DAW The build and sound quality both live up to expectation.
