    Great replacement for 1275 Austin Sprite

    Ordered because the original crash starter failed to engage or got stuck in the flywheel without spinning the motor on my 1967 Austin Healey Sprite with the 1275cc motor. The Powerlite starter was a direct replacement, fitted upside down due to fitment with the smog equipment. Note that I had to enlarge the starter power cable connector with a dremel due to the bolt on the Powerlite being approximately 20% larger than the OEM equipment. This unit is lighter than the original crash starter and spins the motor faster and stronger. It fires up in fractions of a second as opposed to a couple. It also engages the flywheel immediately and doesn't cause any high-pitched metal-on-metal noises. Would definitely recommend to anybody that is still using the OEM crash starter.
