I bought this to turn my Carrera Crossfire 2 into an e-bike for commuting. It took a good few hours to install everything and make it all tidy. The instructions aren't great but it's pretty self explanatory; anyone with good technical ability will find it simple. Pros: it'll propel 100kg+ of bike and rider to over 30mph on flat ground without even pedalling, and it's completely silent! The power delivery is very smooth when using the twist throttle, it's basically like riding an electric motorbike. Cons: the connectors are not waterproof, and the cable from the motor is tethered so changing a rear tyre on the road is simply not realistic. To avoid this possibility, I fitted Schwalbe Marathon E Plus tyres to my bike, with the hope I won't ever get a puncture. The pedal assist is good but it's tricky to use at low speed as it relies entirely on a cadence sensor - there is no torque sensor like in some higher end e-bikes. Riding at very low speed with pedal assist on is difficult so it's better to either turn it off temporarily (easy to do) or use the twist throttle for manoeuvres. The bag that's included to hold the motor controller is completely useless. I took one look at mine and didn't even bother trying to use it, and I bought a hard plastic case instead. There are plenty available on eBay and Amazon. Overall I'm quite happy with the kit, other than the fact that it arrived with a punctured inner tube. It makes commuting to work an absolute breeze as only minimal effort is required on all but the steepest of hills.Read full review

It's way too heavy and not Straightforward to put together, I would not recommend buying this kit, go for a front wheel kit and a different brand that Is lighter and has proper Instructions and get one with a throttle , I'm sorry I bought this.

I bought this kit as a temporary cheap replacement for my dead 60v 5000w kit, and the one thing that I was concerned about was having to buy a smaller 48v battery for this kit, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that in the settings on the display it can be changed from 36v up to 72v. So a great very rare kit with higo connectors for an excellent price has a secret weapon in its arsenal of being capable of running up to a 72v battery. In saying that I'm not an expert I'm just relaying my experience and I'm not liable for any damage that might occur when you start changing settings. Been using this over a month now. It's all working great. Was easy to fit on my old mountain bike. The throttle is great and flies up hills easily. I've knocked a star off for the pedal assist though. I've disconnected it. It's way too aggressive. It's full power as soon as you pedal. I wish there was a way to lower the level but I think it's preset on full. I love being able to restrict it to 250w I've done over 30 miles on my 15ah battery. I've set the restrict on a switch on the handlebars so it's easy to switch on or off. Does over 30mph unrestricted but it eats the battery so generally I keep it on the 250 unless I need a quick boost. It's a great kit for the money and would buy it again. Bargain.

The kit arrived on time and was in good shape. The motor was easy to fit and wire up. PAS sensor mount, a cheap steel ring sprayed to look like brass, did not fit onto my crank housing. I modified it by filing out a larger diameter. Even then the instruction manual suggests using superglue to attach it. The entire PAS system and its fitting could do with improving. The other disappointing aspect was the low build quality of the break levers. They look fine to a casual glance but any sort of scrutiny reveals that some expense has been spared here. But the kit is about the motor and that, so far at least, seems to be great. Good torque and decent sensitivity with throttle control. I'd go ahead and try this kit if you're on the fence. It's reasonably good value for money.
