My classic car is restored to glory!
After 6 years!!! With no antenna, today I finally fitted my second classic car's new electric antenna, replacing the long dead old Hirschmann. On this occasion it's my Audi B4 convertible, the previous was my Mercedes-Benz SEC. The package comes equipped with all necessary items. Only this time the wiring is simpler than the old units. RED for continual power, GREEN for up/down & BLACK to ground. Simple & a very nice fit. Thank you. I've done advice to prevent future failures. Frequently clean the mast, & once a month, dependent on rain, apply "porpoise jaw" simulated "whale oil" to the radio mast, make sure to cover the whole steel stem with a nice thin film. It will last forever. If you find the mast sticks again & you can't open, remove the unit, boil up some water, take a DISHWASHER ... After 6 years!!! Then immerse the radio mast ONLY, into the boiled water, LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT. that should clear up corrosion stickiness.
