    to fix a B5 6 speed VW Passat failed gear linkage

    If you suddenly lose all gears and the gear stick seams like your stirring porridge. and gear selection is intermittent, then the gear linkage arm has probably dropped of the ball end of the lower selector rod It affects 6 speed boxes only Getting the linkage out and replacing the plastic cup is fairly easy, butting it back is fiddly and can take a couple of hours of ingenuity There is a good write up on UK passats on how to do it, this kit costs a tenner and saves you loads if you had to buy the whole rod Well worth the effort, as the only extra work is replacing the plastic cup, 10 minutes or so

    Did the Job

    Customer brought their Audi A4 in with gear selection issues and it was determined that they had numerous issues, including a terminal gearbox fault, but this repair kit has bought the customer some time and saved replacing the gearbox lines themselves.
