    Good quality, original product. Will last many more years.

    At some time or another, your X Type will need replacing this cable. Do it as soon as you start having issues - normally the boot does not close properly as the cable jams and the locks do not return to their locked position. Fairly easy removal and installation (search internet, Jaguar forums). Do not go for imitations - not worth it. This is the right product.

    Problems fitting X type bonnet release cable.

    After struggling to fit the internal release lever end of the cable through the bulkhead I gave up and removed it again. The old cable had came out OK so why didn't the new one go in? After measuring it, it was about 0.5mm too big and bigger than the hole through which it had to fit. After pairing it down with a stanley knife to the same size as the original it fitted. As expected, the cable arrived coiled and had "set" which made it a pig of a job to rotate the outer of the cable to fit in the latches it just didn't want to stay in the required position. A simple job which took far more time should to fit.
