    Something Renault should have done.

    I must confess I have not fitted this yet. However it beats the hell out of fitting a new pedal box, which was Renault's answer. It would appear the Clio model had a similar problem. How many opportunities do you need to get the point something is not quite right. The top product on the picture is the Twingo version which is to put it bluntly, rubbish. This fell off after four years and only 12,000 miles. So I bought this new linkage and thought how well made it was. It also has had some thought regards the retaining clips to keep it in place. After all it is a safety feature, no one wants to be stuck in gear and no clutch. So well done for this as it has always been at the back of my mind since I fitted a Clio unit three years ago.

    Niche

    Obviously spotted a gap in the market as Renault only sell the whole pedal box for Clio and Twingos at £250 + and then fitting the lot. The OEM one is made of milk chocolate and this has locking pins so much more secure. Highly recommended

    Rescued

    Our MkII Clio broke down in a busy High St over the summer and we were towed to a garage by the AA. Such a simple part but Renault have stopped supplying them so the garage were ready to give up. Fortunately the AA man had mentioned eBay and Ask The Mechanic delivered this part to the garage promptly. It was fitted and has worked well since then so saved the day. Thank you
