Item was received quickly. The item was sold without an AC adapter so I had to purchase one which took about a week before I could test the item. The scans are very good. I did have to go online to get the Epson Scan software but the software was readily available. I'm not very impressed with the Epson Scan software but that is independent from the scanner. The item was used and does have a large scratch on the lid but the rest of the scanner is in good condition. Happy with my purchase

It’s pretty good. But it can take some time to get Art to look nice. For color pictures it’s really good once you get it in the right setting. But for black and white pictures.. It’s pretty bad.. I wouldn’t recommend it for black and white pictures at all. It’s way too bright or way too dark.. There is no in between. Also the scan is pretty slow at times. It’s still a really good scanner, but mostly for color pictures. It’s really good with color.

This Epson V300 is the upgrade of the Perfection V100 I've been using since 2007. It features a backlit cover and slide holder for scanning photo transparencies and other materials not reflective. The cover has a flexible hinged lid for scanning solid objects up to an inch thick or more. Packaging, circuit boards, slide transparencies, documents, CD's in their jewel cases, comic books, even English bone china saucers have undergone my scans. Perfect for auction sellers and very accurate. My scanned water colors look so good I have trouble telling the difference between the original and the scanned print. Installs easily under Windows 10. Use the Professional mode settings for best results.

Fortunately, there are a plethora of cheap, All-in-One printers with built-in scanners, and the one's made by Epson, although excellent at printing, are no different from the rest when it comes to the poor quality of the scanner. My Epson XP-610 does beautiful printing, and everything else works great, but I spent hours scanning in photos and comparing the result to the actual photos, and determined to my chagrin that the scanner pretty much sucks. I then researched the issue and found that most of the built-in scanners were pretty much an afterthought. But Epson to the rescue with a very well built, high quality external scanner, the Epson V300, to fill that void. If you're serious about getting all the detail from your old photos or slides, you can't go wrong with this excellent scanner. Note: this is NOT the cheaper CIS type found in most all-in-one units, but a true CCD type scanner with an LED light source (no warmup delay), consistent color reproduction and long life, and it will do 3D objects. Add to this the wonderful driver software that includes automatic color enhancement for faded images and dust removal and photo restoration becomes less about seeking expensive, expert know-how through a photo shop and more about saving your precious photos for posterity.Read full review
Scans documents quickly. I especially like that I can scan documents as PDF files. Overall, it is exactly what I needed and I'm satisfied with my purchase.
