One of my all-time favorite live albums ever! I am a huge fan of "old" Scorpions and people do not realize that they started around '69 and can be termed as one of the very first metal bands ever! Many of their earlier classics are here and perfectly executed on stage in Tokyo! Ulrich Roth as a masterful lead guitarist and had a sound that could put you in a trance! Incredible leads and pefectly executed riffs came from this man's fingertips! To me, this is prime Scorpions before the very next year, they moved towards mainstream hard rock/metal.
Fabulous live hard rock music. A very tight band with a great lead vocalist and well written songs. The real treat though is the lead guitarist Uli Roth. When you listen to this you will see that he is on a level with the likes of Trower, Hendrix, and Blackmore as a Stratocaster master. The breakdown to "Fly To The Rainbow" is a stupendous inventive melodic playing display in the spirit of Jimi. Worth every penny.
