I love this band. Ever since I saw them on MTV and then, 3 years later in '86 - live at the Orange county fairgrounds in, NY. Dokken opened up for them and it was great. Workin' for the weekend will be forever in our hearts and minds as countless radio D.J's play that track on Friday @ 5pm around the country... The first video I ever saw for Loverboy was "When It's over" on MTV back in the day... it was when MTV played music. Well, the aor format...(Album oriented Rock at least...) then, they had the second single... of their debut album... "Turn me loose..." What a great band... one of the biggest bands of the 80's. Mike Reno- great vocals... just great... Paul Dean the guitarist is a GREAT guitar player... he knows WHEN NOT TO PLAY. he won't fill a song with ego-jaculation of endless guitar hero notes... but can still play the F*** out of a strat... I love his guitar tone... Underrated... without a doubt... solid rythm section and awesome keys... love this band. great, great tunes... of the 16 tracks, i could do without 3 of them. that's it. There are at least 13 great songs and if you don't like the band? Not familiar???? well, then listen closely to these songs... Turn me loose, When it's over - same era...first songs we heard from these guys. The kid is hot tonight... and LUCKY ONES' building, building, ahhhh 80's rock orgasm!!! two amazing songs... lovin' every min. of it... great 80's rock with awesome space... not filled with endless bs. notes...listen you'll see what I mean... almost paradise- footloose soundtrack song.. not loverboy, but Anne Wilson fr. Heart and Mike Reno... Hot girls in love- zztop if youask me... Notorious... awesome.. try it... you'll like it... SteveRead full review
This band still tours currently and still rocks! The '80s - a time when rock still rocked, and ballads were limited to one per album. These guys have always rocked live and seeing them several times in recent years is no exception! Lead singer can still hit those high notes (and without dropping keys like so many other leads have done with their music as they age out.) Lovin' Every Minute of It!

If you are looking for the ultimate collection of Loverboy tunes, then you'll agree this is an excellent CD. If you're a Loverboy hater, then...why are you even reading my review?! The early 80's had the Cars, Loverboy, Blondie, Men at Work, and Fleetwood Mac. Loverboy had so many hits, that one forgets they were a killer band, until listening to this CD. My 20 year daughter, upon listening to this CD, decided she was going to add it to her MP3 collection. High praise from a 20 year old! LOL! If you want to remember that special time of your life when Loverboy was belting out the hits, you're gonna have to buy this CD.
One of the best greatest hits CD's by any 80's band. A must for any collector. The photo layout inside brings back lots of high school memories. I bought this CD (due to the song content) for my juke box at work, which has mostly 70's and 80's bands (and is played as background music)...beats the local radio stations in my area. Highly recommended to all who tolerated this time in music.
I purchased this CD for the songs "Turn me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend" to have a pure digital copy of them in my Music Library. I enjoyed hearing the variety and diversity Loverboy had... I was pleasantly surprised. They could have done without the ballads... Of the three on the cd, I don't remember or particularly like any of them (Almost Paradise from the "Footloose" soundtrack was the only ballad you'll recognize). The ballads all sound over-bearing with forced deep vocal tones that lend false emotion. Other than not being "Balladiers", Loverboy is a great party group... fun and easy-going, with great lead vocals and well-played bass and guitar lines. The ultimate Party Song from this album is "Lovin' Every Minute of It". This under-utilized classic (that seems to never get plyed on any classic radio station) will prove you a "party hero" for a gathering of friends at your home... I danced to it right-away! Over-All, if you love 80's music or grew up in the 80's and would like to re-kindle some memories, this is a "Must have" album for your music collection!Read full review
