This is truly a classic album from the mid 1980s, a time period in which style took the front seat to the detriment of substance, yet that can hardly be claimed here. Roxy Music cut their teeth with Eno and breaking forward new sounds in the Brit-Glam era, pastiching together sound collages looking for direction until about the 3rd or 4th album, at which point Roxy Music became ROXY MUSIC, a monolith of sexy style, saxophones, reverb and hair gel. Its like Roxy took all the best Plastic Soul elements of the mid 70s Bowie phase and took it to the next level. The problem with perfection is that you have no place left to go, and the New Romanticism settled into snarky silliness and smarm. Liek the Arthurian reference to the album's title, the album represents a gem that captures a perfect and treasured time. The brilliance is fleeting and can be only appreciated in its context, taking the gem out of the holy city can tarnish its glow.Read full review

My dad received this album as a Birthday Present and I have a pristine copy on vinyl and cd, but did not have the remaster. The album has a much richer soundstage, which is my favorite thing about this CD.
