Didn't realize there were so many different artists collaborating on this. Got it as a gift for my wife. Classic Jackson Browne!

A 5 star rating is modest. This album deserves 10 stars. Bought as a 15 year old in 1973, this album pretty much became a main stay then and remains so to this day. Beautiful songs sung with such emotion and awareness. Jackson Browne was a revelation at the time and his messages on this recording are now more relevant than ever. Brilliant.

Of the Jackson Browne albums that I have heard, this is my favorite and one of my favorite albums of all time. It was the first album released after the tragic suicide of his wife and is heavily imbued with personal anguish. This is especially evident in such songs as "Fountain of Sorrow" and "For a Dancer". I believe that the "early model Chevrolet" depicted on the cover and mentioned in the title tract was her car. Parts of the album sound a little dated now but David Lindley's beautiful violin work as in "For a Dancer" really stand the test of time. In my humble opinion, this is a genuinely great album.
this album came out in the 70's....so many good memories.....if you're a Jackson Browne fan and you've not listened to this.....definitely a must do.... i was a teenager and his music was the soundtrack of my life.....

If you like Browne, pick this up! It is less slick than some of his later Lps and includes a much more laid back feel.
