    The "Duke" rides again

    Well, what can I say about John Wayne that hasn't been said before? All these movies, the old ones, the newer ones are just marvelous examples of the Duke and his natural way of acting. Wayne portrayed a man's man in most movies, yet most women fell for him too. I bought this special movie pack for my hubby and he just loves it. He is still working his way through all the movies and I know that this set has brought him a great deal of satisfaction. In the past, I had purchased some other DVD's that claimed to have excellent older movies of Wayne, but I was disappointed with the quality of those. The images, the quality seems to be much better with this set. All in all I'm quite pleased.

    John Wayne 20 Movie Pack (4 Disc Pack) (DVD, 2005)

    For diehard John Wayne fans, this is a true treat. 20 movies for about .55 apiece. Granted 18 of them are 'B' westerns from Lone Star that are at times cheesy. But 2 are a couple of gems. Angel and the Badman is the first John Wayne movie I ever saw and what made me want to watch more. The other is McLintock, which is so politically incorrect regarding the roles of men and women for this day and age, but still is a hoot to watch. The only caution I have is regarding the quality of the pictures. I've watched a few of the earlier films in the package and in places the picture is bad, blurry, and jumpy. But you have to realize that the films are over 70 years old now. The fact that they are still available at all is fantastic. If you're a casual fan, I would say this is ...

    John Wayne 20 Pack Movie

    John Wayne has always been a favorite since I can't remember. Good clean acting and he always gets his girl ! ! ! In all the movies in this pack, theres not one word of swearing. We look for these things in movies today. We believe they could make any movie without swearing of any kind and done correctly it will still be a number 1 hit.If they've got what it takes to make a movie, they don't have to include the swearing or nudity.We get the movies the kids can watch with us and we don't have to be afraid they'll see or hear something they shouldn't.

    Who doesn't like John Wayne?

    We have not watched all the 20 movies. Some of the movies on here are really hard to watch due to being to they are really OLD and cant see or hear them very well. Love JOHN WAYNE --it wasnt him. I think thier might be better viewable movie's out there -where they might have helped to eliminate some of the bad picture qualities (if they could) but it was so cheap and even if we only got to watch half the movies -it was worth it to us. We had gotten rid of our dish/cable and all we have is antenna (6 channels at best) and need something to watch on the weekend (can usually find something to watch during the week-nights - but almost NOTHING on free over the air tv on the weekends). I think you would like this--if you like westerns and John Wayne --just dont expect much from ...
