I've always had a fondness for this movie ever since I first saw it. Life was so much simpler in the early 60s. Mating rituals were more proper. Sex wasn't something taken for granted on the first date. This edition is nicely cleaned up with great commentary by Paula Prentiss, one of the stars in the movie. Great soundtrack by Connie Francis, who also stars in the movie. Filmed around Ft. Lauderdale--in fact the waterway and the homes look exactly the same when I saw them in 1999. Lots of romantic pairings and good clean fun. It's refreshing to watch a movie that doesn't have private parts exposed gratuitously and the F word in every conversation. Don't miss it if you like nostalgic movies from the 60s. It still holds up well.
I bought Where the Boys Are because it's always been a movie we watched at Spring Break. It's got comedy, drama, romance, music, a wonderful cast and a learning lesson to all young girls. If you like movies that will transport you back to another time and place, this is a movie you will enjoy. I'd recommend it to everyone, but especially young girls just learning about how life works and how easy it is to go down the wrong road and how quick one action can change your whole life. It's a movie very dated in it's beliefs, but that's the way is was. It's a movie that will make you laugh, then cry and then get that wonderful feeling of being in love for the first time.
Love Connie Francis in this movie! Wonderful music. Spring break for college students in Florida. It’s a good movie; nostalgic, comedic, heartwarming and it deals with real issues as students transition into real life, and interpersonal relationships. I’m glad that I bought this on dvd.
