This collection is somewhat unique in that it fools you into thinking the music is all upbeat. Some like "Giving up" is fairly repetitive. However, there are enough interesting songs that save the day. Ms. Michaelson has an enchanting voice and a lovely range and is very expressive. I heard her first on Pandora, but not so much on local stations. I'm sure she has a very bright future!
I have heard Ingrid's music now and then on the radio and I never knew who the artist was! I finally heard the name and was able to purchase her cd! There are only a few "upbeat" songs which I really LOVE and the rest are slower but really show off her beautiful unique voice! I would recommend this cd to anyone who loves something a little "different"! :)
Great record! Ingrid Michaelson texts and music makes you happy. Tunes that you find yourself singing to after the disc stopped playing. And texts that reminds you of thing you yourself experienced. A great record!
I first heard her on the Bob and Tom show. She brought an accustic guitar player with her - both lovely on the eye. She is folksy and contempary and I figure her to have a long long long career. Her third album was not as folksy and not so whismy. But this one is a winner all the songs through and through. Boys and Girls are great too.
Good cd, but she has better. There are several 'covers' which I think actually detract from the album.
