I've been buying John Hiatt's albums since 1987 and this was one I didn't have...I'm quite glad I bought it! Personnel: John Hiatt (vocals, guitar); Luther Dickinson (guitar); Tommy Burroughs (violin); Jim Spake (saxophone); Scott Thompson (trumpet); Jeff Calloway (trombone); Joe Sallmanberger (tuba); East Memphis Slim (keyboards); David Hood (bass guitar); Cody Dickinson (drums). More than 30 years into his recording career, John Hiatt is as vital as ever on MASTER OF DISASTER, and at his most soulful since his critically feted BRING THE FAMILY/SLOW TURNING period. I collect SACD and DVD-Audio multi-channel music discs strictly for the high resolution clarity of the music. However, I also collect those multi-channel discs that contain strong instrumental content, which are to include great bass and drum parts that drive ones speakers to their full potential. I also collect those same discs that are just plainly enjoyable to listen to in addition to their high resolution playback. This John Hiatt SACD 5.1 disc called Master of Disaster is just one example of a disc to have in such a collection. So if you enjoy the playback of 5.1 SACD material, this is a must disc to locate and purchase. The entire disc will push your system, that is if properly owned and arranged, to its fullest, and you will enjoy the separation of the instruments contained and the ...
