I’m a woodwind doubler that has been using a very low end student model for years now. I didn’t play a tremendous amount of flute, so it worked for what I needed. Recently, I’ve been getting work to play flute more and wanted something that was better quality. Tone and intonation is tremendously better, and getting it used for such a low price was perfect. It will need minor adjustments, but the price for that (and what I paid for it) doesn’t even amount to a third of how much this flute is worth brand new. I definitely recommend for a developing student or that woodwind player who wants a reliable instrument without the large price tag.

If you are already into flute study and only have a basic closed holes flute ,probably this Yamaha 385II can take you far into learning more with an affordable price . The Silver head (925 ) gives you a good tone to reach the third octave nicely , and once there later on you can scalate from an intermediate level to a higher flute . It is quite close to the all silver yamaha flutes as the 485 with less than half the price.
