I needed it for school, so it was forced upon me, but, looking through it, it's a very nice book. The pictures are crisp and in-color, not to mention not one page goes by without at least 3 of these pictures. The writing is normal sized and easy to read. Overall, pretty heavy for a paperback, but worth it, whether its mandatory for school, or for someone very interested in historic artwork.
Only because the book was a requirement for a class did I buy it. Otherwise, the book's explanations of the art collections were very general. I mostly used other outside sources for more specific details. The images used were not bad, but could've used better ones for architecture image perspectives.
Good book. Doesn't help that the teacher makes it unlikeable. it is full of pictures and had very detailed information through the ages.
