The healing of a Brother and Sister
I had been wanting this model kit as a boy, for some time. Even new back then, was still a very costly kit, and given my family's situation at the time, I figured I didn't stand a chance of getting this model kit from my mother for Christmas. I was only 8 years old, and just the following year, my beloved farther passed away, may he rest in God's hands in eternal heavenly peace. My sister, who was 16 at the time, and who is now a Catholic nun, (my sister the sister 😁) she had offered to help me with the construction of this very difficult model kit. My older sister was envoled with her school work all and boyfriends and girlfriend's she was just 18, and my older brother by a year, didn't offer to help, except to blow it up on the launch-pad upon the completion of the kit, with some of ... So, you can see why I was so very excited to have an adult, to help me, and I I'm I'm sure my mother was also, not only did it bring my relationship between my sister and I, closer together, but theö bonding effect for us, that no amount of talking between the the both of us would ever accomplish. The healing power of a brother and a sister back together again with a shared project of simple Love, Joy and shared happiness that brought us closser together and toughened our resolve. I kept that model we worked on, fought on, painted and glued together, until in 1990 when I lost it in a devastating house fire. Then In 2001, I was diagnosed with Chronic Liver failure from Hepatitis C that I more that likely probably contradicted, while serving in the U.S.M.C. Bottom line was I would die if I did not receive a New Whole Liver, a partial would not work for me. I did not have a replacements offered to me untill 2017 (I recived a new liver in 2017 when I was admitted to G.T.U.H because my INR values were at 9, normal is 2) ONE is a blood value, mine was elevated because I had to be on Cumindin (Blood thinners) for blood clots in my right and left legs. For 16 years I battled liver failure everyday, always fighting to keep back death, I lost 280 pounds, I was in the hospital on the average every 2 to 3 months each year, staying in each time on an average of 14 to 21 days plus a visit. I worked everyday up to the last year, when I was so weak, I couldn't make the 2 hour communit by train in and out of Washington D.C. anymore along with the 45 min drive from home to the train station, I was afraid I would blackout and kill an innocent person. The local ER STAFF and the hospital staff, not to mention my brothers at Station 10 at the N.B.V.F.D, my local VFD) they all new me and my wife by name. The New Baltimore V.F. Station was my 2nd home, this was my station, where I volunteered as a firefighter/paramedic at before my illness took that away from me also, so at least I was able to train my replacements before I had to leave. Anyway to end a very long, long story I really would have liked to have kept short, I found this model rocket kit on EBAY, I imeditatly brought it after all my surgerys and my recouping surgeries and were overcome and my stinnt in the rehabilitation center cleared me after another 2 months under there care...but then I was able to call my sisters, Mother Superior and asked her if I could have my sister come move in with us for a 1/2 year to a year in a private apartment I had constructed in my basement, to assist in helping me in my healing and recovery efforts. So the look on my sisters face absolutely nothing but priceless, when I set out this HUGE rocket ship (it's scale is 1:9a6) that's about 5 feet tall was priceless. THANK YOU EBA2Y!
