    Following Meck

    If you follow the hatches across PA and beyond, you can catch one hell of a lot of trout. But you have to be on the water, not riding in the car. Many hatch events only last an hour or two at most, and not necessarily before dark. At the other extreme, stupendous hatches can occur and be completely ignored by the fish. Mid-morning, in my experience, is a good time to be a-stream for caddis, olives and blue quills. Being a water watcher, not a flogger is good advice to gain experience.
