Its a remote
No programming needed. Easy access to tv's settings and channel scan features. The remote is quite large for my hands. I find it clunky as I have been used to a smaller remote and I only use a few of the buttons. A bit of streamlining would be nice. I do find I must have the remote directly pointed at the tv sensor or it doesn't respond. I have had to push buttons repeatedly to change channels.No programming needed.
