Excellent little mixer.
I've read mixed reviews of this mixer. Most of the negative reviews are due to the USB digital recording interface is only a 2 channel stereo output. In my opinion, that complaint is invalid. All it takes is a little research to determine that fact before the purchase. This mixer does exactly what it was designed to do; does it well and at a great price. I have been Behringer sound equipment for many years. I currently own at least 15 Behringer in my professional sound system. Behringer products are designed in Germany. For the most part, they are very well designed. They pack a lot of features in small packages and keep the cost down by having them manufactured in China. Like any other electronics components, there will be a certain percentage with problems. Granted, the build quality ... I've read mixed reviews of this mixer. So.....I'll take the chance on an occasional defective component. Overall, my experience with Behringer pro sound equipment has been very positive and the Xenyx QX2442USB mixer serves me well. I use it to mix down drums/keyboards in large groups. I also use it as a practice board for my own band. I haven't used the recording feature yet; but the fact that it isn't designed for multi-track recording with the USB interface, doesn't both me at all. Since channels 1-8 have direct-out jacks, you can still use it for multi-track recording if you need to.

For home studio recording, or on stage action... I have yet to find something I don't like. Very easy to use. You can send all, some, or individual signals to whatever you need. The individual compressors expand the quality of our bands music so much. Thank you Behringer!
