Thank you for the beautiful HP 8648C signal generator at an excellent price. As described, it works perfectly. The unit was foam-in-place packed in a new, tri-wall box. There was a gash in the top of the box from the shipper, but because of the excellent packing by the seller, there was no damage to the unit. Highly recommended seller!

    The best capacitor tester of its age - and better than some made today

    There are things a modern capacitor checker cannot do, such as test 600V capacitors for value and leakage at their rated voltage - this one can. It may not be very accurate at measuring capacitance, but for most purposes, where a 10 or 20% tolerance is marked, this one will be good enough. I found it great value, even with the cost of postage from the USA to Crete (Greece)

    good value

    These are quite valuable even in modern electronics because you can test actual working voltages up to 600. Almost all capacitors pass at less than 9 volts. This one needed 2 capacitors and an accurate calibration. Very good considering 50 years old.

    HEATHKIT IT-11 V.S. IT-28 - BOTH EXCELLENT CAPACITOR/RESISTOR TESTERS/REFORMERS

    BOTH the Heathkit IT-11 & the IT-28 are EXCELLENT resistor testers & capacitor tester/reformers (for electrolytic caps that aren't too dried out with age), but the IT-28 has the added benefit of a "dual primary transformer" making it possible to operate from 120VAC (standard USA household voltage) AND 220-240VAC (for many other countries or when 220-240VAC is preferred).

    Model IT-28

    Well for what was paid, this unit does not work, and least the all output voltages for the leakage test, understanding this is an older unit, it will take some components changes and internal clean up of the switches. But that's on me. Will be glad when this unit is fully functional.

    works very well

    Works great. Be aware that for electrolytic caps under 25 volts you always need to use the Min lytic setting regardless of the cap value when testing for leakage.
