BUYER BE WARNED. These are NOT genuine Ge filters with rfid chip in them even though sellers states they are. I placed these in my GE refrigerator and immediately received an error. Water would not dispense for drinking or ice making. I contacted GE and they informed me that if I received an error it’s because they are not certified GE filters with rfid chip. They also mentioned they do sell these filters w/o chip that only work on older refrigerators.

As anyone reading this ridiculous claim you will see I have crazy amount of reviews showing these filters to be very much legit. This is just a customer wanting something for nothing. Ive never had any problems working with any customer that was actually honest. This filter does come with the chip in it and they work just fine as I use them personally. SELLERS BEWARE OF THIS BUYER!!!!!!!!

Hope they last longer than 6 mos, expensive
First time we have replaced the filter in the side by side GE refrigerator we purchased this year. Weird how it doesn't click in to place straight but at a slight angle. No matter how many times we tried to get it aligned vertically it just doesn't, even when trying to put the old filter back into place same scenario. Hope this one lasts longer than the original, they are suppose to last 6 months, but our first one lasted 5 mos. These filters are expensive, cheaper on Ebay somewhat when purchased in multi pack. No luck, Never again
Have bought 2 of these filters on EBay and both got an err code and wouldn’t dispense water. Got replacements from the hardware store and they both worked. Not sure about the 1 st one but the 2 nd was Made in China. Both from the hardware store were made in the USA. Won’t be buying again unless I can see the box and where it was manufactured.

GE refrigerator filter
It is the filter I needed for my refrigerator and it was at a good price. It is not to be cleaned, has to be replaced after about 6 months, so cleaning is not an option and it is one size, so compact doesn't come into play.

I know one of the previous reviews stated that they received an error light with the other one that didn’t have the chip. I was a bit concerned. But I installed the filter, ran some water in a glass to get out the air bubbles, and so far, no error light or any other issues
