This is really a great replacement for many older Roland Midi sound modules. This power supply is better than the originals due to the fact that it provides a regulated 9v output due to the switching nature of the power supply as opposed to the original linear wall power adapters. It also provides 2amps of output current and that meets or exceeds the requirements of what most of the older midi modules need as well. So in short you get an actual Roland modern switching power supply that can be used with a variety of Roland equipment and sound modules provided they match the power specs and polarity needed that this adapter provides. With this power supply's switching technology, you get a cleaner and more stable 9volt output that will mean less work for the voltage regulators inside your equipment which, equals less heat and an overall longer life on the equipment this is used with.
