The Item is I believe as listed. It has a UPC code and is advertised with one so is not from my era. The one that I had had brass swags this has plastic with a staple in the main closure. If this is issue the military had really lowered it's standards. The cord and clasp are strong and solid. It is as advertised. The price is fair. I had a real issue with USPS on the delivery, however this was no fault of the seller.
