Fixed my saw.
I bought a RIDGID 15 Amp 10 in. Heavy-Duty Portable Table Saw. I also bought a good 80 tooth blade for the saw. This saw is really a great saw except the miter gauge was a piece of junk. I searched eBay looking for a replacement. The Incra MITERV27 Miter V27 Miter Gauge although a little pricey appeared to be what I was looking for. The one feature that sold me on this unit is that you could adjust the width of the bar to fit the saws T slot. The INCRA miter gauge was easy to set up. The index is repeatable and spot on. A part needs re-engineering.
The adjusting bolts and associated (nylon?) washers (that are supposed to expand and cause a better fit in the work area surface) did not perform well. I lubricated between the bolts and washers with an excellent oil. Still, the washers did not expand as needed. I pried into the washer slots with two thin screwdrivers as I attempted to tighten, still with limited success. For the cost of this thing, this feature needs to be improved by the manufacturer. Has the precision I was looking for
Best miter I've used to date. Way better than what typically comes with a table saw. I tested it out after setting it up, very precise and exactly what I was looking for. For what it's worth, as a machined parts inspector, using tolerances within ± .0002 ( yes tenths of a thousands ), precision measuring is my profession.
