Instructions aren't clear. Red goes to + on battery, black to ground, green to coil, yellow to light switch (illumination at night), white to accessory / 12volt with key in on position.
Press and hold button on back for 2 seconds needle will point to 4. This is setting your number of pistons. (4 = 4 pistons ect.) Quick press to cycle through to the number you need. Then press and hold for 2 seconds to set. Then you're done! Works great, great price!

Product is not as described,2" 52mm Universal Car Tachometer Gauge Meter with LED Shift Light 0-8000 RPM 12V, does not have a "shift light" It has a back light, not a big deal for me. set up was a little vague. 1button hold for 3 sec select cylinder marked by rpm. Within 10 uses needle went to 8 and stayed there guessing that meant error. Resetting the number of cylinders seemed to fix this as it hasn't happened since. when installed this could be a big pain to fix as that cup is hard to get off

It's a simple tachometer, although the only problem I had was the wires being too short, but I managed to get them all routed and powered. The only wire I really needed to expand was the pulse/sensor wire for the tach itself, but other than that, it didn't take much to install it.
