I'm sorry to hear of the concern. But there are no plastic mounts that could possibly be broken off. (The bottom plastic pieces are not mounting brackets, but they were present on the radio, regardless.) The mounting brackets are METAL and get transferred from your radio. (They simply screw on.) Please note: We have sold 21 others from this ad alone, with no problems. We are an OEM radio shop and our feedback is outstanding for a reason. The radio is as described. This is merely an install issue
