Docking is not as seamless as I would like. It does take a little getting used to docking the unit. I would recommend not powering the docking station when docking. I have done this a couple of times by mistake and if the connection is not solid and arching will occur. Otherwise, dock works perfectly and keeps my desk space clean to work with documents. Amount of peripherals work perfect for my daily use.

I wish that it supported dual monitors. I had to tie up one of the USB ports with with a USB video adapter to run 2 monitors. Otherwise I like it so far. I like knowing it was intended to work with the Surface and its port configuration for USB, Display, and power specifically.

I have had my original Surface Pro 1 for 4 years now. My original Surface was set up alongside a Powered USB hub to solve the problem of only having one usable USB port. However; I've been experiencing weird little issues like my Logitech peripherals cutting in and out; twitchy power from the original MS Surface plug. I thought I had original heard MS making this hub and had conveniently forgotten about it. Had I picked this up around the time Surface Pro 3 launched, I could have gotten it for cheap; however I am fairly certain I got a decent deal on a barely used one from a Seller here in an auction. It was incredibly easy to set up. Everything slides into place. It allows me to plug right into my modem via ethernet if I have an issue (fickle wifi while attempting to access a modem can be infuriating). The three USB ports makes a world of difference. The power plug option is much more stable compared to the original cord. On top of this, if you find yourself with a Surface Pro 1 or 2 that has a dead battery, this is essential for having a working Surface at the very least a Desktop Tablet. There are two audio outputs on the back as well. I could not get the sound to work out of the audio out, but it worked for the headphone jack output. That is probably the only Con I have, but It is weak as I never truly troubleshooted it.Read full review

The docking station came exactly as advertised and perfectly angles my surface pro 2 for viewing. Very happy I was able to find a docking station for my surface pro 2 which is an older model.
