I own several Flash Drives from mostly two brands: SanDisk and Kingston, USB 2.0 and 3.0 8, 16, and 32 GB. All of them perform well, above all the new USB 3.0, which are extremely fast. I bought this Verbatim, just hoping that it would be as good as the verbatim storage media they used to have in the 90s and early 2000s, when RW CDs and RW DVDs were "the thing". What a disappointment. I cannot believe how slow this thing works. I use GoodSync to keep all my work files synchronized and it works flawlessly, using the maximum speed available in these drives. I started loading the Verbatim with my files, to have it as a backup, and after two and a half hours I just gave up. The maximum speed achieved were between a "stunning" 300 b/s (you read it right: three hundred BYTES per second) and all the way up to (rarely) 1.9 Mb/s or a bit more. Most of the time however, no matter what type of files were being transferred, the speeds were below and way below 1 Mb/s. I really can't imagine what can be that makes this drive so slow, but I'm just going to toss it aside.Read full review
