Compact - the most important advantage . The very sight of the camera attracted me , so bought it. Photo quality on high, it is when you consider the fact that I'm very picky about the quality ! Video shoots well , but only three resolutions in HD: 1080p (25-30 fps) and 720 (60 fps) . To remove the video parkour fits perfectly. But there is one very big disadvantage . Focusing is very slow. I hope it will be able to fix in a subsequent software. If you want a compact system camera (I advise to start with the lens at 22mm , looks generally fine ) , which could take good pictures on the level of good DSLRs . If you need the best quality of photos, I would advise to consider options for better.
The image quality is similar to what you would find on a 7D or the T4i to T5i. If you can part with a few convenient features such as- Fast AF (very sluggish), viewfinder, limited amount of native lenses (you can always buy adapter to access pretty much all of Canon's lenses). The trade off is image quality on both stills and video.
Great camera for the priice. I am just a beginner, but I love it so far! I was looking for something compact and this is the perfect size while not comprosing image quality.

I actually purchased the M2 with the zoom lenses and can't be happier with the results. Auto focus was fast and the picture quality was great. As I haven't had a DSLR camera for a long time, the form factor was nice to carry around. I learned quickly to hold the camera from the bottom with the lens as a base and it is really comfortable in my hands. Looking to add a larger zoom lens in the future.
amazing for pictures, small form, subtle, simple menus. Magic lantern allows you to shoot in RAW & have more functions for video. Grip is a bit lame, so worth buying a grip attachment if you're more than a point & shoot person (or if you want a more comfortable experience). Very impressed w/ this little gem!
