I was already getting 80mb/s before purchasing this card so I was sceptical able how much improvement I'd get. Spectrum told me I'd only get 100mb/s anyway. After the easy install and speed test I saw solid signal bars and a steady 108mb/so. I'm about 50ft from my router with little obstruction, so take that as you will, but I'm pleased with the results.

I've bought two of these for desktop computers in my home. They both replace older wireless-n cards in each machine. I figured I'd see a noticeable increase in wifi speeds working in conjunction with my wireless-AC router. I was a bit disappointed. One machine, in an adjacent room, experienced somewhat of an increase but the other machine, more distant from the router, is no better than the wireless-n card. I'm even using a +10db external antenna without which the signal would be too low for much use.

This card might fine over short distances when the access point (AP) is in the same house, but that's not what I got it for. I got it for use with a large 2.4GHz external yagi antenna in order to reach a distant AP. Signal quality is only marginally less bad with the huge antenna over the stock stick antennas, even after much effort to get a good line-of-sight with the yagi. That same yagi setup works fantastic when connected to a router set up as a WiFi client and connected to the same PC through an ethernet cable, which is what I've had to revert back to. The green status lights are also obnoxiously bright, even when the card is disabled in Windows. It lights up the wall behind the computer, which is next to a bed.

My "N" class receiver was extremely slow and dropped the signal from my router constantly. This card plugged into my computer and Win10 recognized and installed it almost flawlessly (had to restart my computer once) , no drivers needed. If you have an older OS, there is a disc included. This is advertised as a low profile for SFF machines, but mine came with the brackets to fit both standard towers and SFF units. Hi power antennae pick up signal from the exact opposite corner of my house. Buy this card, you won't be disappointed

This PCIe add in card works great. Windows 10 recognized it in a flash and didn’t even have to download a driver. It has good speed and wakes up properly after the computer is asleep. You will need to get an antenna for best speeds. Also the mounting bracket, as stated in the description is for a small form PC case. I had to fabricate another bracket from an old slot cover I had. If you can’t do that, then just straighten the bent part with pliers and secure it in place with duct tape from the back of the case and Bob’s Your Uncle.
