Really, the biggest difference between this and the expensive ones are details like thickness — this one's about 3/32" thick (as opposed to the 5/32" thickness of the high-end ones) — and the fact that the edges are cut, (not stitched/hemmed). I doubt there'll be any difference in performance and durability is good enough for hobbyist/non-24/7 use. Also, can be cut fairly easily — (using a utility knife or scissors) — into smaller mats (although you'd have to come up with your own grounding solution for each). All in all, though, not bad... especially considering the price!

Every antistatic mat I've ever used did not melt easily. This one melts easily. Will see how it holds up. Other than that, its fine.
