Once installed it works well and did activate. Had to Download the ISO from Microsoft and make a DVD to install it though since I kept getting errors with the DVD that came. Said " a needed partition was not there". The product key was good.

I build all of my computers from the ground up. This operating system is the only version I like to use. It does take some time to install, but it is easy to install.

First of all, I must admit that I have been working with PCs since the mid-80s, starting with a KAYPRO CP/M machine. I hope I know what I'm doing most of the time when working with computers, and that being said, this item worked well, and I had no problem installing it on the homebrew machine I built for my wife. I at first was a bit trepidatious as the install seemed to have a default location as the UK, but then again we both speak English, and the keyboard gave the choice for a US QWERTY one, so all is well there. The apparent date of the disc's manufacture was mid- 2016, and anyone installing this disc will have a BUNCH of updates. Since Microsoft updates Windows 10 about every 5 weeks or so, it took most of an afternoon to get the installation current. If you buy this, be aware that the key and COA will work with the downloaded Microsoft Media Builder which allows you to download a more recent version of Windows 10 as an .iso file that can be burned to a DVD. If that is more complicated than what you care to try, just be aware that installing the updates can take some time. doing it over a two hour period was a little tedious, even with a fiber-optic high speed connection. I would suggest that once you have the OS fully installed that you make a back-up. That way if there is a problem installing apps, or for some reason you need to do a clean install again, then restoring the back-up will be a lot quicker that installing the original disc and doing all the updates. A final tip is to go to the websites of your display adapter and WLAN adapter before the updates are installed, and get the latest drivers as it will make things look better and download optimally.Read full review

Since Microsoft is no longer supporting Vista, I was looking to upgrade my old HP computer. Much to my surprise, the clean install of windows 10 went extremely smooth. I ordered the HP version of windows 10, which was recognized by Microsoft without typing in the key code. Windows 10 is similar enough to Vista, so it was easy to start using it right away. Plus my computer starts up quickly and runs smoother than Vista. This saved me the cost of buying a new computer.
