I purchased this unit as a "power head" for the other attachments I already own. Over the winter I also got the small chain saw attachment. When I finally tried to use it, the 2 stroke power head was dead (no spark and no compression). That is why I went with the battery pack. Altogether, the unit is quite heavy; however, the battery lasted as long as I did when cutting up the winter blow down. I also used the extension but that makes the unit almost impossible to wield. I will try out the string trimmer in the next week or two and get back.

Tried it out works good but my job only lasted about 30 min runs great so far nice not having to deal with gas mixtures ,repairs . Battery lasts reasonable length of time for big jobs it helps to have 2 battery's, this model lets you to use attachments from different brands
